LITTLE ROCK – The City of Little Rock will host its first-ever Mobile City Hall on Monday, April 7, taking city government to the community through a variety of services, workshops and a town-hall style meeting.
Monday's Mobile City Hall is at Longley Baptist Church, 9900 Geyer Springs Road. It begins at 5 p.m.
All Little Rock residents are invited and encouraged to attend. Monday's Mobile City Hall is the first in a series scheduled across Little Rock as a way to increase community engagement and bring City services directly to residents.
"With Mobile City Hall, we are putting the "Go" in government by heading out into our communities with municipal services, resources and information," Mayor Scott said. "We will make it as convenient as possible for our residents to handle city business, ask questions and learn more about how we can work together to improve Arkansas's capital city. We can't wait to see you Monday at Longley Baptist Church."
At the Mobile City Hall on Monday, residents may:
- Obtain or file police reports
- Pay District Court fines
- Pay business license fees
- Apply for City jobs with qualified applicants participating in "instant interviews"
- Apply for building permits
- Apply for a Municipal ID
- Learn more about grant opportunities like Down Payment Assistance and Neighborhood Challenge
- File code enforcement complaints
- Submit 311 requests
- Recycle electronic waste
- Interact with animals from the Little Rock Zoo
- Take part in Parks and Recreation demonstrations
- Get a close-up look at city equipment like fire and police vehicles and a sanitation truck
Service providers will be available starting at 5 p.m., and city departments will also have information booths available at that time. Door prizes like free family admissions to the Little Rock Zoo, day passes for the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center, T-shirts and more will be given away.
At 5:30 p.m., Little Rock's 311 team will host "311 101," a workshop about the service and the 311 app, and another session at the same time will focus on the Love Your Block grant program and application assistance for $2,000 neighborhood revitalization grants.
The community forum starts at 6 p.m., when Mayor Scott and leaders of every City department will provide updates about ongoing projects and answer resident questions.
