LITTLE ROCK – Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. today announced the launch of an innovative partnership with ProTeam Tactical Performance to open a state-of-the-art physical therapy clinic specifically designed to meet the specialized health and rehabilitation needs of Little Rock's police officers and firefighters.

The clinic is the first of its kind in Arkansas and one of only eight in the United States. ProTeam Tactical Performance is led by two former professional athletes who created the company to bring to first responders the same high-level equipment and wellness technology they had received in pro sports training rooms.

The City's first responders will receive specialized services tailored to their unique needs. ProTeam's comprehensive offerings include rehabilitation, injury prevention strategies and wellness education.

"The City of Little Rock is leading the way when it comes to ensuring the wellness and safety of our police officers and firefighters," Mayor Scott said. "This partnership brings the same high level of care received by pro athletes directly to LRPD and LRFD so that our members who are rehabilitating and recovering from injuries can get healthy more quickly and stay well. We are excited about this innovative solution for public safety personnel who put their lives on the line every single day."

The new clinic is housed inside the Little Rock Fire Department's Training Complex. LRFD Chief Delphone Hubbard said the risk of injuries are greater for first responders who face physically demanding situations daily.

"The people of the Little Rock Police Department and Fire Department have a desire to serve this community, and they should not have to be concerned about adequate care or downtime when it comes to treating their injuries," Chief Hubbard said. "It is critical we have access to top-tier, comprehensive rehabilitation services. This collaboration with ProTeam helps us recover from injuries and maintain peak physical condition while doing so."

Little Rock Police Chief Heath Helton noted that officer health and wellness is one of the pillars of 21st Century policing. The ProTeam partnership is a welcome addition to the panoply of wellness solutions for his officers.

"This is an investment in the health of our team and our City," Chief Helton said. "Our physical and mental wellness is essential for us to serve our community and to return home safely."

In addition to cutting-edge equipment, the new PT facility features a highly-trained staff supporting public safety personnel in every level of their careers.

“We are excited to bring ProTeam Tactical Performance to Little Rock and provide local first responders with the resources they need to stay strong, healthy, and return to the job after injury by treating them like professional athletes,” said Joey Vandever, Co-Owner of ProTeam. “Our mission is to help these tactical athletes recover as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible after injury.”
