On August 11, 2025, 12^th Street Patrol officers responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle collision in the 500 block of Broadway St. The driver of the motorcycle, 26-year-old James Lusk, sustained critical injuries and was transported by MEMS to a local hospital for treatment. He would succumb to his injuries on August 12, 2025.

Accident Reconstruction Officers responded, processed the scene, took photographs, and collected evidence. At this point in the investigation, no charges have been filed pending a comprehensive review. This investigation is ongoing.

#Update: On September 18, 2025, Antonio Marques Bowie was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury or death.
