Detectives with the Little Rock Police Department responded to 615 West Markham in reference to a missing person report. Contact was made with Patricia Harris who advised her son, 44-year-old Lawrence Nichols had been missing since August 31, 2024. Her last contact with her son was when he told her he was at a local hospital awaiting his son to pick him up. When his son didn’t show up, he left the hospital on foot. Ms. Harris was provided an incident report while the investigation got underway.

Update: On September 11, 2024, Nichols was located deceased in a ditch in Pulaski County by officers with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).  It was discovered Nichols suffered from a gunshot wound to the upper body. During PCSO’s investigation, they developed Lavar Moore as a suspect and it was also discovered Mr. Nichols was shot and killed at 4618 West 21st Street on September 1, 2024. Mr. Moore was apprehended and charged with Capital Murder and LRPD was notified of the incident location. The next of kin was notified and the body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.
