3612 Foster Street Homicide)

At 11:53 a.m., on Saturday August 24, 2024, 12th Street Patrol Officers responded to 3612 Foster Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 45-year-old Jeremy Hicks suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers called for MEMS who transported Mr. Hicks to a local hospital where he died a short time later. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. During the course of the investigation, 24-year-old Johnny Bailey III was developed as a suspect and warrants were obtained. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.

#Update: On August 28, 2024, Johnny Bailey III was taken into custody and charged with Capital Murder.
