2018 Cold Case: 5901 Dreher Lane Homicide)

On August 14, 2018, Southwest Patrol Officers responded to a shooting call at 5901 Dreher Lane. Upon arrival, officers located 28-year-old Christopher Nixon, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers called for MEMS who attempted life-saving measures with negative results. Nixon succumbed to his injuries a short time later at a local hospital. Two other individuals were inside the vehicle with the victim at the time of the incident; however, neither of them was injured. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A short time later, officers transported the two uninjured individuals to the Major Crimes Division where they were questioned and released pending further investigation. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.

 

Cold Case Update: After further investigation, it was determined that Anthony Murry was developed as a suspect. The 34-year-old Murry was taken into custody in Missouri and extradited to Little Rock on September 23, 2024, where he was charged with Capital Murder.
