At 7:41 pm, on Monday, December 22, 2025, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a subject down at 2005 East 17th Street. Officers arrived and discovered 62-year-old Michael Rountree suffering from apparent stab wounds. Rountree would later succumb to injuries at the scene. Officers secured the area and notified Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit. Both responded and began an investigation. The Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

Detectives developed 44-year-old Lorenzo Brown as a suspect. Mr. Brown was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
