On Thursday August 29, 2024, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to 1007 Main Street in reference to a shooting at that location. Upon arrival, officers discovered a black male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The other individual involved in the shooting, 18-year-old Omar Davis, remained on scene. Officers secured the area and notified MEMS who responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the deceased victim to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and positive identification.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives who began a preliminary investigation. Detectives mirandized Davis who was released after questioning pending further investigation. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.

#Update: The victim has been identified as 31-year old Jaderrian Brown.
